Stong Fathers, Strong Daughter Review

Another book I recently finished was Strong Fathers, Strong Daughter by Meg Meeker, M.D. A powerful book uses research and personal experience to build a case for dads to be involved in their daughter’s lives. She offers “10 secrets every father should know”. Here are the ten secrets:
1. You are the most important man in her life
2. She needs a hero
3. You are her first love
4. Teach her humility
5. Protect her, defend her (and use a shotgun if necessary)
6. Pragmatism and Grit: two of your greatest assets
7. Be the man you want her to marry
8. Teach her who God is
9. Teach her to fight
10. Keep her connected

I enjoyed this book, even though all the statistics are sobering. The basic premise is “Dad be involved and love your daughters!” Every dad with a daughter should read it. You may not agree with everything, but you should read it.

Are we at the point where any sort of case needs to be made that fathers should be heavily involved in their daughter's life?
